About Pregnancy Options

Many people are faced with these questions when it comes to making the decision whether or not to have sex.
The Purpose of Sex
Simply put, God's purpose for sex was so that human beings could have children. He gave us the commandment to 'be fruitful and multiply' (Genesis 1:22) and, as an extra bonus, he made sex pleasurable for both
men and women.
Men and women are uniquely designed to enjoy the sexual act with one another and a significant bonding occurs when a couple has sex. Women feel one thing the morning after and men feel something entirely different.
What Happens When You Have Sex
One of the hormones released during sex is Oxytocin. The last thing most single men want to feel is 'responsible' for a woman they are casually dating. Sometimes, that feeling of responsibility may drive the man away if he is not serious about the person he is dating.
Pregnancy and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs)
You can have casual sex and as long as you use a condom, you're safe, right? Wrong! Let's be real about STD. It's estimated that 1 in 4 people have herpes. Black women are disproportionately affected by the AIDS virus. Black men are diagnosed at rate of more than seven times the rate of white men and black women - and this is really scary - Black women are diagnosed at 20 times the rate of white women! 20 Times!
Every time you have sex. Even if it's oral or anal. Get tested and have your partner tested. Now let's talk
about pregnancy. Do you really think this man is going to, if not commit to you, at least commit to supporting his child? Protect yourself.
Use condoms, but if you want to really feel safe, practice abstinence. The only sure-fire protection against STDs, AIDS and
about pregnancy is 100% abstinence.
God's Plan
God created sex so that two people could take pleasure in the
marriage experience. He created sex as the perfect bonding experience so that a couple could grow strong together, bond with one other and create a loving home environment for
their children. Remember - the act of sex causes a person to become physically, emotionally, and spiritually joined with every person he or she chooses to have sex with. Protect yourself - mentally, emotionally, physically and of course, spiritually.
Older Women & HIV
Executive summary About Pregnancy by Barbara C. Phillips
HIV infections are on the rise. While seniors represent about 14% of people with HIV, senior women represent 18%. The numbers of
women with infections are even higher for American women of color, and come in at a staggering 47% when looking at world HIV infection rates.
Women also erroneously think they can’t get HIV if they are not engaging in behaviors they deem as risky. HIV is a virus. HIV is primarily spread in two ways. Second, and more commonly, HIV is spread by unprotected sexual encounters. Women frequently are the
receptive partners, and the receptive partners are more likely to become infected. Women who are post menopausal are at higher risk because of the changes in the vaginal tissue.
What’s a woman to do?
Know your own HIV status. Contact your
health care provider, or (if you want anonymous testing) the local health department for testing. If positive, confirmatory blood testing is required. Know your partners history (this goes for both male AND female partners ladies!). Condoms and lubrication are essential.
